Saturday Centus: Family Drama Part 13

She awoke suddenly when the captain started making landing announcements. It irritated her that even though it was now 2035, they still hadn't been able to stop people from selfishly using up all the overhead compartments at the front of the plane instead of the ones above their assigned seat. Her bag was twenty rows back. She'd have to wait until until the plane was empty to head back there and retrieve it. The robotic flight attendants weren't programmed for independent thinking, and wouldn't break formation to get it. At times like this, she wished that “Beam me up, Scottie1” was actually possible.

Jenny is still shaking things up for us over at "off on my tangent".  This week's Centus is to be written in sci-fi style.  It's more like sigh-fi.  But, I'm still managing to string them all into one story, just for the challenge of it.  Now there are some other Centusians  doing that too, so it's catching on.  Need to catch up?  Put Family Drama in my search gadget.  Only need last week's?  It's here.  Then head on over to Jenny's to link up your own, or to read the other micro-stories

you are one clever writer to have been able to use this week's prompt in your story! Well played my friend.

At first I thought "handbag" and couldn't imagine it being okay 20 aisles back. Created good tension with that interpretation!

oh you, much like I - not quite sci-fi but a pleasure to read! (well yours was anyway...it almost sounded like I was complimenting myself and that so was not my intent)

I wish the outcome of air travel were different in 2035 but hey...the likelihood I will doing much of it then is pretty slim anyway!

Ha! That happens to me right now!! I have decided that carry-on is better than waiting for your luggage at the carousel, though! Thanks for your comment on my post, Tina!!

Boy, you must feel like Jenny is gunning for you LOL. You have really run with this challenge. Every week I think there's no way you'll be able to tie the prompt in. And every week you do. Fantastic! Kat

When I read the prompt, my first thought was to wonder how on earth you were going to link it into your story. Nicely done!

Geez, you just breezed right through this. I'm gonna have to put my thinking cap on how to stump you one of these days.

I thought this was challenging to write even without stringing stories together, so bravo to you amazing girl!
