I'm Swamped!

I'm swamped too.

  • I've got my parents' 50th Wedding Anniversary Party to plan
  • My last Precept lesson of the year to plan
  • We have literally no FRESH food in the house, only our zombie apocolypse stuff. Need groceries.
  • Nobody has clean clothes. Laundry must be done!
  • I've got a list of phone calls the length of Rapunzel's hair to make
  • And I haven't slept well in two weeks...so I need to go to the doctor

That whole part in the video of get some rest, if you haven't got your health...I say POO! I'm trying...

You don't have anyone to murder do you? At least you can take that off your list.

Hang in there, Tina! If they get hungry and smelly enough, they will shop and clean. At least that's the kind of thing I try to tell myself.

Yeah, unfortunately I don't get the murder part. But it's probably for the best because adding "avoid getting arrested for murder" to the list might just send me over the edge...

Be Calm (as they say) What's the worst that can happen? If you expect that, then anything else will be okay. (that's what I learned from a Stress course, hah!)

Sleep is what I usually sacrifice, too. Such is the way of many women. . .

What's that story they told in the beginning (I think) of "Catch Me If You Can," about the mouse who was put into a vat of milk and he kept swimming and swimming and swimming, because he couldn't get out but didn't want to drown, and eventually he paddled so fast and so long that he churned the milk into butter and was able to walk out?

Something like that. Do that. Turn your milk into butter. Keep your chin up, Tina -- things will slow down/improve.

Hey, if you're going to be up anyway, you want to entertain my cat at night. His nighttime antics are starting to take a toll on me.

You need to add a pet to that mix! I'll send Rocko, my problem child, right over.

You'll get it done! Just remember to breathe and it'll get done! :)

Everything seems insurmountable when you are tired. You need to get rest first then think about all the other stuff. Of course the King in the clip didn't have to worry about being arrested. Chin up girl. Think of your good Swedish stock.

I hear ya, Tina! Kinda in the same boat here. Wish there were a clock that didn't tick so fast!

Hang in there, Tina. Just keep swimming, just keep swimming. I think I can. I think I can. I think I can.

Hi Tina - don't know how you know about the "I'm swamped" clip - amazing tie in .. oh dear .. and now Michael's beaten me to it by saying "Breathe" .. I was going to add that to the mix .. as you might forget.

Good luck - life sounds hairy as usual around your neck of the woods - but of Viking stock you are .. and you'll cope - I hope! Look after yourself as best possible ...

Can't say more really - you sound swamped ... let's hope the magic fairy comes around .. and swishes the washing et al away. Good luck once again! Cheers Hilary

Take a deep breath and remember we only have as much as we can handle. I'm sure that if you ask for a little bit of help, you'll get it. Now, I need to get to work on cleaning and laundry and getting ready to go grocery shopping too. I guess that's an adult thing? I don't know. I'm just happy I made a grown up phone call without a panic attack. Baby steps!
