Today
is the 30th anniversary of the first date The Engineer and
I had. I wrote our love story several years ago when I first started
blogging. You can find it here if you're curious.
Oh,
and check this out. I can't believe I have a picture of this.
Thanks, Momarazzi for documenting my life so well so that my blog can
have vintage pictures.
(it'a a photo of a photo in an album, the "assisting" is from the caption for another picture and I don't know how to photo shop...)
The
Engineer has made me promise not to put pictures of him on the
internet. But this is so classic – he's hiding behind the tuba
just like I talked about in those stories. I'm in the white shirt in
the front row. Not my best look, but at least you see how young we
were when we met. 30 years ago. Where does the time go?
~Tina
P.S
Took the plunge. After editing my story for a week, I finally sent
it. I'll let you know if and when it gets put up. Meanwhile hit
Briane Pagel's blog “lit” because Brian Miller's story is up already.

Thirty years is a long time - well done! And I think you look fine.
sweet story and great memory...
Happy Anniversary!! That's quite a milestone.
Anniversary of your meeting, I meant, got carried away there. Happy Holidays to you and your family, Tina.
No one would be able to say my Highschool pics reflect how I look today...at all. I don't know how to use photoshop either.
Hugs and chocolate!
Congratulations and happy anniversary!!!!
Our love story was 30 years in the making too....it just took 30 years to happen from when we met till we finally got together. lol
I'm always amazed when people know the anniversaries for things like that. I'm doing good if I can remember major birthdays. Like my kids'. And it's not actually uncommon for my wife and me to disagree on some anniversary date (like our wedding) to find out that we were both wrong. But she's usually more wrong.
Same with us. My wife and I have been together since highschool days; 28 years now, I think. And I agree with the Engineer; I don't put pictures of myself on the Internet >:)
Cold As Heaven
i dont think it counts as a picture of him if he is hiding behind a tuba...so use that as your defense if needed...ha....cool...happy anniversary!
I know the dates of weddings and birthdays, but not things like when we met or when we first went out although I know people who do know such dates. Mind you it's a pretty long time ago since we got married. Now what year was it?
Congratulations to you both.
Hi Tina .. wonderful photos to see - thanks for sharing with us. Lucky you to both be so musical - hope the boys have taken after you ...
Congratulations on 30 years since meeting - enjoy these coming few days .. cheers Hilary
i would've guessed you were in the green. shows what i know. you look fine!
thirty years! WOW!
I only have two things to say:
1) Good luck!
2) AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!
Thirty years! Congratulations!
Hope you are doing well, dear <3
Lookin' good in that picture! (And The Engineer is, too.) Everytime I read this I get more jealous, and now I find out The Engineer plays tuba? I WANT TO PLAY TUBA.
I'm going to try to read those earlier posts. And your story. Thanks for the plug.
Everyone knows that the brass dates the woodwinds!
Hi Tina,
Thirty years and I bet it seems more like thirty minutes. The memories forever etched in both your hearts.
Wishing you much encouragement with the story you sent.
Gary :)
And here I just barely celebrated 30 years of life. Congratulations! Whether it's 30 years of marriage or 30 years since your first date, that's still a long time to tolerate the same person's shenanigans. :)
