I'm joining a new Friday group called Friday Fragments, which are bits and pieces that are too short for their own post, but too good to never see the light of day. Link up at Unknown Mami (who is hosting for the summer instead of Half-Past Kissin' Time.) I found this group through DoreenMcGettigan, an A-Zer. Phew, I think that's all the required links.

Our family quotes movies
a lot, because most of us like to re-watch movies multiple times. It does make it easier to remember the good lines. The Engineer,
however, watches movies once. He doesn't play the quote game, except
for a very few exceptions, like when The Queen of Quotes, Swissie, will
throw one out there.
That's why the following
conversation just cracked me up. We were having our usual “check in
and see how your day is going chat” and he says, “I've got the
thingamabob to fix in the whojiwhatsit, and the guy in charge is on
vacation, the product isn't going to pass UL without it, and no one will
even discuss this with me. And that's not counting my regular stuff,
which is enough to keep me busy for a long time. AND I have
Guilder to frame for it! I'm swamped! So totally uncharacteristic
of him. Loved it.

My Amazing Aunt Risky
rocks. She's in town for GorgeousGirl's birthday and baby shower
this weekend, but GG is in San Francisco for training (unexpectedly) so we
get Aunt Risky to ourselves. Yesterday she kidnaps all four cousins (16,
15, 13.8, 13) and takes them to Boondocks fun center. Go-carts,
bumper cars, bumper BOATS, bowling, arcade, lazer tag: teenage
heaven! I got the whole day to myself to sleep and respond
individually to your very thoughtful and helpful comments about my
depression post. Then she brought us dinner when dropping off the
kids! I just love her so much. She knows just what to do in any
situation.

This is a conversation between me and OYT one afternoon last week.
“Mom, are you going to
DO anything this summer besides sit in your bed with your laptop and
write and blog and do email?
There's really only one
reply to that, “Are you going to do anything besides sit in the
basement, hooked up to your XBOX live headset, and play games all
summer?”
“Um, no not really.”
Frag
Four, or should I say BRAG Four
In my depression post I
talked about tasks with deadlines. One of them was taking a piece of
art my uncle created, somehow shrinking it, maintaining the correct
aspect ration, adding text, to create a wine bottle label to replace
the real one. These are the party favors for my cousin's baby
shower. I've procrastinated it because it had so many steps.
HOWEVER, with Swissie's help, we now have them all done, with ribbons
tied on and they're set to go. Couldn't have done it without her!
Forgot to take a picture of the finished product and they're at her
house, so here's the graphic, at least.
Do you quote movies, or know that quote? Have a kid who lives in the basement playing games? Anything you're procrastinating? I hope you have a great
weekend, and if you have fragments to share, hop aboard. The links
are in the opening paragraph. And no, you can't have my Aunt Risky.

I take it your cousin is having a boy? (Yeah, I know - real observant.)
What's wrong with playing XBox all summer? I spent mine playing Pong and Atari games.
While I almost never reread a book, I do tend to watch movies multiple times. I could keep up with your family.
Damn! I wish I COULD quote movies but I would a) have to have a decent memory and b) watch a movie once in awhile. Oh well.
And , no, no kid in the basement playing xbox games but there is this person in my house who sits at the dining room table writing blogs and emails.....
Funny thing is, I AM procrastinating on something. I am procrastinating on "doing something". I have six weeks off and I should "do something" but what I want to do is sit at the dining room table and write or lay on the hammock and read.
Go figure.
We quote movies but not a huge variety of movies. That one you have there is familiar, but I can't place it, and I don't feel like cheating to find it. Must be my brain cloud. (Points to you if you know that reference.)
smiles..if i could get away with xbox all summer i would...wait i dont even have an xbox...ha...movie quotes are the best...i have a couple friends that will duel with them...
My daughters quote movie lines all the time. And they're adults now.
Hugs and chocolate,
Shelly
Thanks for joining FF's this week. It is my FAVE bloggy party. Even on weeks when I let my blog slide I usually manage to get my act together for a few frags.
Hope to see you regularly.
I quote movies & TV shows all the time. All. The. Time.
I'm terrible at quoting movies... But I am great at procrastinating... my speciality.
We are huge movie buffs and do them all the time but I don't know that one. I am gonna go back and read the comments to see if anyone guessed.
LOVE THE BOTTLE LABEL, LOVE IT!!
Oh, and AUNT RISKY, KEEP HER lol.
Enjoy your weekend :)

I'm notorious for quoting movies and also quoting music. My favorites come from 'Princess Bride' and 'Serenity' but I'm not afraid to go to broadway for lines either.
I love your Friday Frag idea too, that way even those little bits of fabulous don't get lost in the cracks.
Your Aunt Risky could kidnap me any time.
I always seem to remember a good movie quote after the conversation called for it. :) My husband is good about music quotes ... they make for good inside jokes.
Hi Tina .. can't do movie quotes - have no earnest husband, crazy kid around .. and also don't have a basement! So I'm stuck .. but the booze label - now that's another story .. baby or no baby .. I love the creative feel to it ..
.. and just feel those parties will be fun - but glad you were able to sit on the porch last night and watch the rain lash down, and the lightning dart across the sky over the town .. that earthy smell is so wonderful ..
Have fun .. glorious day here - best for ages .. now time for a glass of vino! Cheers to you - Hilary
Hey Tina,
I never do movie quotes and so go ahead, make my day.
Ah, speaking of fragmented, apparently, I'm "in bits", "beside myself" and "all over the place.."
Be well and have a peaceful weekend. Speaking of procrastinating, I was going to leave a comment, maybe later! :)
Gary
Thanks for stopping by my blog for Friday Fragments. It's so nice to "meet" you :)
Aunt Risky sounds like a "keeper". Hope you're feeling better soon!
Great label! I quote movies all the time in random situations and expect my poor wife to know the context. She puts up with me.
I think the conversation in your fragment #3 took place in my house last week. Almost word for word! :)
Does a grandson with a laptop and an xbox in his bedroom count? I think he only comes out to eat. Luckily, he gets hungry a lot so the family doesn't forget he's in there.
There was a time when I would have quoted movies, now I can't seem to remember anything long enough to quote it.
