Today's
post is the first in a series which will appear very sporadically
from now until the A-Z Challenge starts April 1, 2013. STILL don't
know what that is? TAB. ABOVE. Go see.
Today's
team member is JoJo of Tahoma Beadworks and Photography. We met
during last year's challenge and have been buddies ever since. She
picked the “answer 10 of these questions” option for her feature.
You
may have noticed the co-hosts doing this very same thing at the A-ZBlog. I stole the idea for here. But that's OK. I wrote some of the
questions, and compiled some of the questions, and then used the list
Shannon had compiled, even though it was my assigned job that she'd
volunteered to “help” with – she did 99% of the work!! I have
not only great team members, but great co-hosts. So after you visit
JoJo at her place, hit Shannon at The Warrior Muse and tell her she's
fantastic, from me.
Ok,
so here's JoJo, and picture of her and her fiancee.
1. When I need to get away from it all, I head to the beach to walk, beach comb for pretty rocks & glass and listen to the waves.
2. Being with my fiance', friends and doing crafts makes my life worth living.
3. A movie that exceeded my expectations was 'Easy A'. It's become one of my fave movies ever.
4. Biggest frustration in blogging is CAPTCHA. Hate it. Don't use it. Turn on comment moderation if you don't want spam or just delete it. I've stopped commenting and/or following blogs that continue to use it unless they are good friends of mine.
5. Fave childhood memory would be of spending time at Spring Hill Beach, in E. Sandwich, where my dad had a cottage.
6. A book that didn't meet my expectations was Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood. Hated that book.
7. I hail from East Sandwich, MA on Cape Cod but couldn't wait to get out. I moved to San Francisco in 1989 when I was 24, then moved to Washington State in 1999. I moved back to the Cape Cod area in 2011 to be with the love of my life, a fellow Sandwich 'townie'. He tracked me down on Facebook in early 2011 and confessed having had a huge crush on me in high school, that I was always at the back of his mind, he'd tried to find me a few times over the years and that he still loved me. I fell for him immediately.
9. I would have a fully staffed sailing ship/yacht and I'd name it 'Ship of Fools' after a Grateful Dead song.
10. I'm not sure that I have a 'thing', per se, but I do fancy myself as an artist and photographer.

hey JoJo! Dressed as a Christmas tree - that is original.
Hi Tina! Thanks for the feature today!
Yes Alex, it was a unique pattern and I was surprised to find one at all. My mom did the sewing on it - the tree was green felt and the layers were green tule with decorations sewn on and a tinsel star on my head. lol
ha funny i could not wait to get out of my hometown as well...and i hate CAPTCHA....i am disappointed there is not christmas tree pic...lol...nice to meet you jojo
Hi Brian! There is a pic of the christmas tree costume but it's on Facebook at the mo. lol It's funny about wanting to escape my hometown - it was fine when I was young but the older I got, the more of a connection to my past I wanted. While I miss the west coast and Washington, this is where I'm supposed to be.
Big fan of your blog, JoJo!
Speaking of Captcha - doing a blog hop this morning...3 tries and finally closed the window - never left the comment...so frustrating!
West coast is positively gorgeous...would that I could get back there!
Artsy is good! Walking the beach in spirit...thanks for this opportunity to get to know you better:)
Hey JoJo and hey Tina!
I wonder if you have um 'pined' to be a Christmas tree since then. Fir sure :)
Being an artist and a photographer are excellent positive distractions.
Gosh, this challenge, what a great way to learn more about the alphabet, make friends, get more followers. Gee, why didn't I think of that.
Seriously, all the best to you both in a challenge I would never participate in! :)
In kindness and a bonus letter Zed or 'Zee', if your pronounce it incorrectly, your way,
Gary
Always like to read these things to learn more about other fellow bloggers; I too am not happy with word verification and I too rarely comment long on a blog that still has it on. That Christmas tree costume must have been a great one!
betty
Hi Tina .. great introduction to Jo-Jo ... we're minions together methinks ...
I have one or two friends who keep WV on .. for now I hang on in there ... but my eyesight is pretty good and can quite understand = it is a pain.
How fabulous to have caught up with a long lost love - that's so romantic ... may you always be happy - you look it = great photo.
Cheers for now - I'm meant to be on a blogging break ... just break out occasionally!! Hilary
It's funny how we tire of where we grow up sometimes. Meanwhile, we go to the Cape every year and I can barely tear myself away! Wow! No Halloween costume since 1986?
M.J. - Thanks so much! It's great to have fans!!
Klahanie/Gary - Very punny. lmao
That Corgi/Betty - Yes it was a really cute costume; my mom did a good job sewing it for me.
Hilary - Actually we weren't a couple back when we were kids; he sat behind me in study hall when he was 16 and I was 14 and he was so mean to me!!! He told me that he was mean b/c every time I looked at him, he couldn't breathe. lol
Andrea - Nope, no costume since 86. Haven't been to any parties and I have no kids. Where on the Cape do you visit?
Hey JoJo,
Been an insanely busy day...sorry so late in getting here but so pleased the post actually posted! Great that you're responding to all the comments - folks like that, which as a successful blogger...you already know. I can't help it - the bossy in my is ALWAYS trying to sneak out...
P.S No idea why it turned white...probably my (obviously not as good as I thought they were copy/paste skills...)

So glad to see you featured here, JoJo! Couldn't've happened to a nicer gal! PS: I'm totally with you on hating Captcha!
JoJo is a great team member for you to have. Nice getting to know more about you JoJo.

A Faraway View
An A to Z Co-host blog
Tina - I'm wicked stoked to be part of your team!
Mina - Thanks, you are so sweet! So glad we met!! :D
Arlee - Thank you, it's a lot of fun and i'm happy to be a part of it! :D
What happened between you and your man is a wonderful love story. I enjoyed reading about it!
Nice to meet you JoJo. I too am a minion (or a Spunky Soldier) this year with L. Diane Wolfe, my second year of doing the A to Z.
JO ON FOOD, MY TRAVELS AND A SCENT OF CHOCOLATE
Jolie - Yes it really is a wonderful love story; I can't believe it happened to me and I am crazy about him.
Jo - It's my second year of A-Z too! I think we'll have fun being minions! :D
Wearing a Christmas tree as a Halloween costume is one bold move in some circles. I think it's double the fun....Two holidays in one! Yet, my family would have my head if I tried to pull something like that growing up. "Easy A" is such a fitting choice, given that this post is centered on the April challenge :)
Tina, your team introductions trump my minion feature...why I didn't think of doing a "Get to Know You" on my blog? I'm going to have to remedy that by incorporating them into the posts for my film...that way they get to not only assist me with the challenge, but also sorta join in on the behind-the-scenes happenings with my movie.
I don't know where the A to Z would be without you and Shannon taking charge of all the big organizational duties. Both of you rock!

The Madlab Post
Tina - Thanks for posting the Halloween pic! lol Gosh I was so young. Where has the time gone?! lol
Nicole - I'm not sure why I chose the tree motif for my costume but it seemed logical at the time! lol
