Personal News

This post is not about me practicing writing. It's just a news bulletin, to let you know where I am in life right now.
Back in July, my hip started hurting and it's gotten progressively worse over time. I gave in and saw a hip specialist who x-rayed and MRI'd me. And promptly passed me off to an even more special specialist. I finally got to meet with him yesterday. it's not happy news at all.  My labrum is torn alright, but it's because of the severe arthritis in that joint.  He can't fix the labrum because the ball in the socket joint is not aligned correctly. And even if he could, it would probably just tear again since he can't fix the arthritis.  And even if he could fix it, and the arthritis, and the arthritis didn't return, there's still the huge risk of getting RSD.  Read about Complex Regional Pain Syndrome here.

if you're interested in learning more.  This condition is what I already have in my right wrist which I shattered in 2000, fused in 2006, and still hurts like crazy.  Every day.

Needless to say, I'm completely floored by this news.  He said the only fix is a hip replacement.  But even then, the risk of RSD is so high that it might not be worth it.  At least not at this time.
So where does that leave me?  In hideous pain.  For a long time.
Thanks for listening,
Tina

This sounds so terrible and painful. Yikes, I had never heard of this. Good luck in deciding what to do.

Sorry to hear this, Tina. I didn't know you were dealing with this in your wrist already. Must be tough to do anything too long.

Technology may catch up to this disease. My thoughts are with you.

What foul news! I'm sad that you have so much to cope with; not least, the lack of any real hope. May God will be your light in this darkness.

Oh Tina, I am so, so sorry. I can't even imagine dealing with this kind of chronic pain.

Have you been to any pain clinic? Can they do nerve blocks or anything?

Sending you a gentle hug a lot of prayers as you deal with this.

Wishing Jesus would walk into your room and mix some mud or something and make you whole!

It's not beyond Him, but there are so many I know who need physical and emotional healing. When He walked the earth He healed everyone that came to Him. And He told his disciples they would do greater works, yet we have yet to see a break-out of miracles like he performed. If He lives within us, shouldn't there be some evidence of his nature leaking out?

There is a place in Him where all pain disappears. I haven't discovered how to stay there yet. But when I get lost in worship, I lose touch with the pain.

I pray God takes you there too, in whatever way He provides for your healing. He says, grace, grace to the mountain that stands before you. Not by might, not by power, but by His Spirit--the mountain will move.

Prayers and blessings for health and fullness in His love.

Oh poor you, Tina.
Pain is aweful, specially when it is pain that you are not sure is going to go away anytime soon.
Wish I could do something more than send you a hug from across the oceans.
*hug*
