It's no secret I love sunflowers, so she took one of my artificial ones from some arrangements I made and brought it with her so I could "go there" too. The irony was not lost on either of us that she was climbing one of the most difficult 14,000+ peaks (we call them 14ers) while I was leaving the hospital in a wheelchair with an oxygen tank.
Here is my amazing sister, at the top. Love you Swissie.

Hi Tina .. that's great that you're around again - and the main thing still is to keep get healthier ..we'll be here.
Amazing to climb a mountain at the best of times .. Swissie looks very happy at her achievement ..
Wonderful photo and thought - just glad you're out of hospital .. and have lots of sunflowers on me ..
Cheers Hilary
nice...climbing a mountain is no easy feat...pretty cool though that she was obviously thinking of you as she climbed...so she could plant your flowers...smiles.
Awesome your sister made it to the top! You were with her in spirit. And sunflower seeds.
What a great symbolic way to announce to the world your triumphant return and to spit in Death's face. This hopefully means you're on the mend and proverbially near the top of your health mountain...wait, that would mean you're on your way down hill. I'll have to work on that metaphor.
Hi Tina,
That is indeed a great and happy news.
Thank God Your are now out from the hospital. Sure you will be alright soon, our prayers continues. Your sis rocks for you Great, with your fav the Sunflower. :-)

An awesome accomplishment by your sister. So glad you're out of the hospital. Hope you're feeling better by the hour. Love the sunflower touch.
Great accomplishment!!! I bagged a 14er once. Drove up to the summit of Pikes Peak. Hey that counts! lolol
I've never climbed anything that tall.
She took on the adventure for you.
We used to hike around the top of the Sandias in Albuquerque, but we didn't climb to the top.
That's so sweet of her to "take you with her". I have little trinkets that my mom gave me that I keep in my purse since I live so far away now. Tell your sister I'm proud she did that and to share more pictures.
That is an awesome story. I'm glad you're on the mend, but it's super great your Swissie (*chuckle*) got to take you to the top.
I'm so glad you're out of the hospital, Tina!!!! Gosh, what you've been through is beyond…
And love the pic of your sis. It sounds like you guys are close. I know I couldn't survive without my sister!!!

Yea! You're back!!! :D
Wow. That's cool. I've seen the Longs Peak from a distance, in Rocky Mountains national Park, but never climbed it. This was partly due to the fact that when we lived in the Denver area, our son was 5 years old, and we couldn't do the very long hikes.

Somehow I missed this blog. I am so sorry you are back in hospital again Tina. Much love and hugs.
That's amazing. What a wonderful and thoughtful sister. To have that kind of support must feel like such a gift.
I'm keeping you in my thoughts, Tina, and praying for your full recovery. There's no mountain we can't climb together. Stay super!
Hello there.
I gather from the comments you've been in hospital. Hope you're doing better.
Your sister looks GREAT! That'll be me in the new world when I'm perfect and restored to the days of my youth...then I'll be more adventurous (maybe)! Thanks for sharing. Visiting from the A-Z Road Trip.
