Good Enough For Walmart

You've seen this video, right? If you don't have the 6:45 to laugh your butt off, cringe, and gape in wonder at the wide world of weird out there, then let me sum up. She has taken pictures of actual Walmart shoppers dressed in their...finest attire. Kinda scary actually.

Anyway, here's how I got the sweetest compliment EVER from The Transporter.

I had taken a nap and my new ultra short hair looked a bit weird. I was wearing my uniform: jeans and a t-shirt, Danskos. I was pretty sure the rest was fine, because it better be since that's what I wear. Like all the time.

I was concerned about the hair. I'm still in the experimenting with different looks stage because it's a really GREAT cut and I can do at least 6 different things that look really different. So I decide to ask The Transporter. Teenagers know when their parents are embarrassing.

Mom, you're going to W A L M A R T. You could wear ANYTHING.”

But I'm meeting Dad to help him pick out his new glasses. I'm don't want to embarrass him.”

Mom, you could come to my school and meet all my friends looking like that.”

I think that's the ultimate compliment from a teenager.

What's the best compliment you've gotten?

I managed to watch about thirty seconds of the video. That's all I could handle!
If you look good to a teenager, you've arrived.
My wife told me I look better than Ryan Reynolds. I don't, but I'll take it!

If your teenage son says you look good enough to meet his friends, then you look WAY too good for a trip to WalMart. Go to Macy's. :)

Haven't watched the video yet; gonna go back up and watch. Some of it looks like Halloween costumes.

Poor Walmart. It's not their fault. I am sure these people go to other stores as well. Nice compliment.

That is great!
My kids have a few years to make it to teenagers, so I will enjoy what I can as long as I can.

It's all about the food in this house, Tina. Good, bad or indifferent, it's all about the food. My son and neighbor (pseudo son) couldn't get enough of my peanut butter cookies this week. As many times as I've made them, this was the best batch I ever made apparently :) Too funny about the Walmart dress code!

I think kids can get away with anything -- crazy combos -- pjs, etc. and because they are young, they look OK. What I hate, T, is when old people look scruffy; it makes me sad. I remember two compliments, long ago of course, from men which are the best!

It's easy to poke fun when the people cooperate. Those aren't random outfits - or else someone put something in their koolaid.

I have heard of creative dressing, but. . . and that too.

Hi Tina .. I didn't even need to start the video - that one photo is enuff!!!! way too much ENUFF!!!

When all those years ago I get complimented ... I was svelte .. but in fact recently the chemist lady asked my why I didn't pay for my antibiotics (for my face) (all healed now by the way!) and I was non-plussed if you're ancient! we get free medicines .. do not ask me why .. but I'm grateful. I said I was of that tender age - she said gosh you look good - with my face bashed up! .. and I then said actually you could add on another 5 years to that figure .. she nearly fell flat on her face!!

Better go .. kids make me laugh .. I could do with a few around! Cheers and hope you got good glasses! Happy weekend .. Hilary

Let's see... the best compliment I get is "you're so weird, dad."

That IS a great compliment.

I've found myself trying to dress nicer as I get older. I don't like looking like a bum as much as I used to.

The nicest compliment I ever got? A kid once asked me if I was Brett Favre.

We went to a dance convention last weekend with my daughter's dance team. I was told I was a "cool mom" since I got up and danced with the girls when goofing around in the evenings after classes were over. High praise from a 16 year old!

Wow, what a great compliment. Your kids are great. I know I've had some great comments from mine, but I can't think of any now - perhaps I ought to write them down as they happen :-)

The vid is amazing. I've seen some strange stuff there... I worked at Wal-Mart for about a month about a decade ago. It was the weirdest experience of my life. So surreal.

And my best compliment? Geez, I tend to dismiss those, I really enjoy focusing on the negative. After putting on a few pounds a couple of years ago, I do recall my 90+ year old grandmother asking me if I were pregnant.

Thanks grandma.

Holy freakin' cow -- see, I knew there was a reason why I avoid Walmart. That is a great compliment! Best I've received: "You're not as dumb as you look."

Greetings human, Tina,

Aha, Walmart. Walmart bought out ASDA in Britain and humans shop naked there.

A compliment from a teenager is a marvellous thing. Of course, I'm constantly complimented by my adoring fans, human and animal alike.

Pawsitive wishes,

Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar!

Haha! I guess you picked the right haircut! I don't know what the best compliment I've gotten is. Usually when somebody says a nice thing about me, I get all teary eyed...
