Ok,
let's try this again. Brevity. See?
I
made my card just like DL said in his post at the main A-Z Challenge Blog. I didn't know how to make it work, though. I had it beside me
when I wrote the chapstick post. That post wasn't
brief at all. So I called tech support and they told me it had to be
properly installed. So I did. See?
All I
needed was the ladybug clip! Lucky I had one on hand because the
brevity program is sold separately, no clips included. Now that it's
up and running fine, I will move on to my brief post.
Recovering
from this lung illness has taught me a few lessons. No, patience
isn't one of them. Apparently God's not done with me on that issue.
However, I've found that having a jot-book really relieves some of
the stress that comes from having only one of four cylinders firing
correctly due to some nasty meds, and that one isn't the memory cylinder.
I
treated myself to a 2-pack of these.
One lives in the basket I carry
with me from room to room
the other in my purse. If a thought
enters my mind, I write it down. Have you seen The Hitchhiker's
Guide to the Galaxy? If not, then do. I'll wait. See! Didn't you love that great scene where
they're on a planet where having an idea gets you smacked in the face
by these shovel-looking creatures? I feel like that. The thoughts
come, I'm startled by the clarity, so I have to write it down.
I
leave you (at less than 300 words!) with this last thought. OOPS!
It left the building without me...

CLANG! kinda glad shovels dont hit me you know....i keep a notebook in my back pocket all the time...
You did it! Short and with images. Good job, Tina.
ALWAYS a good idea to have a notebook with you! I keep one in my backpack which I take most places. Love your brevity installation. I probably need that program.
Hi, thanks for your comments! You're welcome for following your blog, I'm enjoying reading your posts, they're very entertaining. After a lot of fiddling with my settings, I think I've managed to disable the word verification, so thanks for letting me know about it because I didn't even know it was there!
Also, I've just written a post about the A to Z challenge, so thanks for letting me know about the Sunday Round Up too!
Great idea about the jot book. I have what I call, "Shotgun Thinking," A woosh of ideas which then have to be pulled into one or two. My husband, the engineer, is a linear thinker, a math person, but I do believe that creative people have more shotgun thinking than, linear. But wait, that does not explain music composition, or does it? Back to the jot book.
Yes to notebooks, but also to a great sense of humor when shovels are coming your way. A lot of that need for humor has to do those ideas that leave the room or the planet before I'm ready for them to. Glad you mentioned Hitchhikers Guide; it's one of my all time favorite reads.
Great to connect with you through the A-Z-Totally-Bonkers-Out-of-My Mind-What-was-I-Thinking Blogging Challenge.
Oh that's a good idea having notebooks in various places, will have to get me one for me bag. So clips aren't included with the brevity card eh? Well at least in comes in purple! :)
Universal Gibberish
Great Brief Post;)
Great idea to have an extra one in your purse. I love notebooks, but haven't thought of carrying it in my purse. Instead, I record stuff on my blackberry.
Ha ha! You make me laugh :) I like the idea of carrying a notebook. I jot things down but then I end up with sticky notes in my purse, scrap paper with notes in my car, my desk at work and whereever else I might be. I never seem to have the time to consolidate them. So yea, maybe I need a notebook!
Hi Tina,
Okay, you can relax now. For here I am delighting you with one of my um 'award winning' comments, I state, ever so humbly.
Anyhow, the number of postings I've put up in the past in regards to "brevity". It's a fast-paced world out there in blogland and really, when you comment on as many posts as I do, I really find a long drawn out posting to be rather a bore. Actually, at this rate, I could leave you with a long drawn out comment. However, that's not my style.
On a serious notebook, I mean, note, I like to jot down the inane musings I have and sometimes, if I'm in a good mood, I share my musings with the three bloggers and the wayward iguana that take the time to grace my little known, waste of time, blog.
There you go, not much brevity happening with this comment. However, you were so intrigued by the opening sentence, despite the length of my comment, you just knew you had to read on and now find yourself at this point, Tina :)
And Tina, this rambling, disjointed, incoherent comment is about to end. However not without me saying I hope you are having a good recovery from your lung illness.
Kind wishes and happy writing, your way,
Gary
You're getting there! Now if we can get Klahanie to sign up on the A to Z list and officially be recognized for his series of A to Zed satire posts.
I've got notebooks all over the place with just the first page or two with writing in them. Some are years old. I really need to adjust this bad habit.

I'm stopping by on my rounds to say thanks to all the people hosting the A to Z challenge. I have to say I'm kind of in love with the basket you carry from room-to-room - it's like a purse for use inside your house. I think I'm going to have to get me one.
